The park is home to approximately 20 species of reptiles and amphibians. The most famous of the residents is the prehistoric-looking American Alligator. There are over 20 species of mammals in the park; this includes bobcats, white-tailed deer, raccoons, gray foxes, and feral hogs. More than 300 different species of birds have been sighted at this birdwatcher’s haven.
This 155-acre nature sanctuary is just west of Downtown Houston. Our kids love the five miles of walking trails through forest, meadow, and pond habitats. Welcome to Say Yes Outdoors. We are traveling to one of our favorite cities in America, New Orleans, LA. New Orleans is world-renowned for its culture, architecture, cuisine, and its festivals, most notably Mardi Gras. An extremely unique city, when in New Orleans, you can find plenty of new mixed in with the old to create a magnificent experience like no other. While the French Quarter is famous for its parties and Bourbon Street, there are many activities that Kids love.
Founded in 1937, Hermes has paraded longer than any other night parading krewe in New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, held every year at 5:30 p.m. the Friday before Fat Tuesday. Hermes is also known for an unusual and longtime tradition, the Walking Parade, held earlier that Friday in the French Quarter.
